Double your Money…

paws for cause 2010

Paws for a Cause dog walk sponsored by the Friends of the Animal Center Foundation (FACF) will be held Sunday, September 19th, noon-4pm at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.

This fun event includes contests and games as well as the dog walk. You can get more information and pick up a registration form at Leash on Life or go to www.FACF.org.

Raising pledges for your walk is a great way to support the dogs and cats at the Center. If you want to support FACF but can’t make the walk you can double your money by coming into Leash on Life.

Any pledge made at Leash on Life we will match up to $200. Hope to see you on the 19th!

Ready for a Dip?

The 8th Annual Iowa City Dog Paddle to support the off leash dog parks will be held Sunday September 12th , from noon to 5 p.m. at the City Park pool.

Rain date is Monday the 13th from 4-7 p.m. Registration forms are available at the Iowa City Recreation Center or at JC DogPAC.

By registering early the fee is  $7, at the door will be $10. Be sure to have proof of rabies vaccine either way!

Ready for Another Dip?

Washington County, Paws and More Shelter, will be holding a Dog Paddle at Washington’s Steele Family Aquatic Center, held on Saturday, September 4th and Sunday, September 5th from 1-4 p.m. This pool is unique since it has a gradual entry so both you and your dog can wade in instead of jumping in. They will also be offering microchipping for a low cost of $15 per dog. Please tell your friends to bring their dog out for a fun-filled day and get their dog chipped. Proof of rabies is required.
