Visitors will be at Leash on Life! This summer has filled the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center. We would like to give everyone the opportunity to meet some of these great adoptable pets. Several of the felines will be at the store Thursday & Friday of this week. Joining then from 11am-2pm on Saturday will be a couple of the dogs available for adoption.
Do you have a dirty dog? The Iowa City Area Association of Realtors will sponsor their annual dog wash benefit for the Friends of the Animal Center Foundation.
This will be held Sunday, August 21st from noon – 4, at their new location 847 Quarry Road (next to the Coralville Marriott).
Mark your calendar now—and please bring your dirty (or semi-dirty) dogs over for a wonderful shampoo bath. The shampoo will be donated by Leash on Life.
Make sure your furry friends have on a current rabies tag, or have their certificate with them. What a fun way to spend the afternoon: your dog gets clean, someone else gets dirty, and the Adoption Center gets help!
On Saturday May 7th our friends from Spot and Company will be here to help us kick off our 5th year in business celebration.
Sue Pearson and Judy Warth will be at the store from 1-3 to answer training questions and provide some fun and useful demonstrations. There will be short demos on the half hour with plenty of time for questions.
Leash on Life will have information and samples of healthy and yummy training treats for your dog. We may even have some treats for you. We’ll have to see how well trained you are!

Everyone’s favorite summer kick-off, the Iowa City Art’s Festival is just a month away, June 3-5. This year you can enjoy a doggone fabulous and sophisticated weekend.
Friends of the Animal Center Foundation (FACF) Animal Art Adoption will be held at the Chait Gallery and Englert Theater.
Be sure to join the gallery walk on Friday June 3rd from 5-8pm. This unique fundraiser is an easy way to liven your walls with new adopted (purchased) animal art. Leash on Life is proud to again be among the sponsors for this event.
A juried competition was held in multiple categories. We congratulate all of the participants and winners, including Laurie Haag Photography.

The FACF Artist Reception is from 2-4pm on Saturday, June 4 at the Chait Gallery and is free and open to the public.

On Saturday August 28th from 10-1 you can come to Leash on Life and meet a couple of them in person.
The Iowa City Shelter will have a mobile adoption here at the store, so stop by and say hello or come in and give them a little treat.
