Prior to starting a prevention program, a heartworm check must be performed by your veterinarian. Your veterinarian will then prescribe a continuous (yearly) or seasonal (from thaw to frost) preventative program based on your dog’s needs.
Not just for dogs anymore – heartworm preventative is also recommended for your cat.
